Found recently this Baird & Tatlock Hydrometer – range 1000–1500 - is in perfect working order and in its original packaging. Though there is no date on it, I would say that it is probably pre-1960’s. The selling manufacturer was Poulten at Wickford, Essex, if this helps you to date it.
